I heard a quote this week I want to share with you…
“A river cuts through a rock not because of its power but because of its persistence.”
Think about this… Many of us give up when we feel the odds are stacked against us. Instead of constantly finding new ways to ‘sharpen our saws’, we fall back to ordinary, comfortable techniques, and then whine about the unfairness of the universe, or that others are simply just so ‘lucky’.
Top performers do not rely on luck, they focus on technique and constantly hone their skills. They are always in reinvent mode AND are persistent.
On a call with one of my coaching clients, (who is a new agent), she shared that she was SO excited to have a breakthrough with a potential seller. How did she do it? “SHE PERSISTED!” She got out of her comfort zone cold-called an FSBO, stayed in touch with the homeowner, and now has the opportunity to convert "Mrs. FSBO" into a listing client!!! Listing presentation scheduled for Friday at 2pm!!!
Are YOU making time EVERY DAY to make calls to FSBO’s, expireds, and past clients? Are you keeping your current clients informed? Are you taking the time to learn how to appropriately use all of the tools/resources available to you to improve your business? Are you attending seminars, listening to webinars, talking to your colleagues, and mortgage partners? Are you PERSISTENT???
When people say that ‘persistence is the key to success’, they are talking about all of these activities and more…
As Gary Ryan Blair (The Goals Guy) once said, “Success in any endeavor does not happen by accident. Rather it’s the result of deliberate actions, a conscious effort, and immense persistence…all directed at specific goals.”
