A1: Hi Randall, it's so great to have you for our very first member spotlight! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and why you got into real estate?
RT: Following a 12-year career in the banking and finance industry, I got my license in California (1988), and then in Texas (2017). Coming from finance and banking, something I really love is that you're truly in control of your own destiny - it's one of the few industries where you can prosper at any point in the economic cycle.
A1: If you could give a new agent one piece of advice as they start their career, what would it be?
RT: Well, first I would tell them what a hard and emotional job this is - you can literally go from highs to lows, in a matter of moments, and back again! After that, it would be to determine your strengths and find a program (like AGENT 1) to help you develop and build them, until they become second nature.
"This profession is all about consistency, and consistency along with daily dedication. And when you achieve that, this profession will provide you with an income and freedom like no other can."
A1: How about one piece of advice you would give yourself?
RT: That your integrity will be tested over and over again. No matter how hard you try, or how good of a job you do.
"At the end of the day, if you truly set your standards at a level that is beyond reproach, you can look back and say, 'well what an incredible life I have and an opportunity to help so many different people.' "
A1: Wow! We love that! How about anything that you'd like to share for the members of AGENT 1?
Well, being in the industry for 30 plus years I can truthfully tell you that you are going to run into so many different types of programs, all promising you the world, if you just follow these simple steps. Frankly, that's not AGENT 1. It's not a walk in the park, and they are not going to sugarcoat it for you. They're going to tell you where you need help and what is wrong and what you need to focus on. With all programs, it's entirely up to you to put it into action or not. But, with AGENT 1, you're always going to get an honest assesstment.
A1: You've had a pretty impressive career and given us amazing advice. How about sharing a recent highlight or win?
RT: How about a recent win?
"Four signed listings on my last four listing appointments and the icing on the cake was a combined marketing time of just 14 days! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!"
